GOV.UK: Care to Learn
If you are a young parent aged 20 or under, Care to Learn can help to pay towards your childcare and related travel costs while you’re learning. Care to Learn enables you to have peace of mind that your child is being looked after while you continue your studies and build on your skills.
You can choose from a wide range of publicly-funded courses and your learning provider can confirm if the course is eligible.
Care 2 Learn can help with:
- childcare taster sessions for up to five days
- holding your childcare place open duirng the summer holidays
- childcare including registration fees and deposits
What you will receive:
- Up to £160 per child per week, if you live outside of London.
- Up to £175 per child per week, if you live in London.
Please note - the amount you will receive depends on your personal circumstances and could be subject to change. Please check with your learning provider for more details.
The childcare provider can be a childminder, day nursery, pre-school playgroup or an out of school club but they must be registered with Ofsted. Alternatively, if a relative of friend is looking after your child, they must be living in a different household from your child and providing registered childcare for other children that they are not related to.
How to apply:
You can apply before you have decided which course you want to take or which childcare provider you wish to use, however you should apply before your course starts or within 28 days of starting.
