The Information and Heritage Service is an excellent, free resource for those interested in the area's history, architecture and finding out about family history, education and business.

They hold the largest collection of materials in the borough relating to local history. They also stock reference materials such as dictionaries, specialist encyclopedias and periodicals; as well as reports, newspapers and magazines.

The Information and Heritage Service is based in Redbridge Central Library in Ilford on the second floor and online resources are available 24hours a day. The library has a lift for wheelchair access.
