The Working with Children with Special Needs course at the Redbridge Institute of Adult Education (RIAE) provides an introductory knowledge and understanding of the issues faced with working with children with special educational needs.

Topics covered:

- the history and language of disability
- knowledge of certain conditions
- communication skills
- how to work with parents

It is suitable for individuals who can commit to 2-3 hours per week of personal study and can demonstrate a sound level of spoken and written English.
