Service summary

Redbridge's Families Information Direct website contains useful information about your child's education.

Many children have special educational needs of some kind at some time during their education. Schools and other organisations can help most children overcome their difficulties quickly and easily but a few children will need extra help for some or all of their time in school.

Help for children with special educational needs will usually be in the child's ordinary, mainstream early education setting or school, sometimes with the help of outside specialists.

This section will guide you through the process and also provide links to services and publications that you may find useful. Information is provided in the following categories:

- How schools can help
- Statutory Assessment
- The Statement
- What school can my child go to?
- Special Schools in Redbridge
- Useful organisations offering advice about the SEN System
- Useful publications and resources about the SEN system
