Service summary

Care in Finance provides payroll support and managed accounts services for people who receive Direct Payments for care services.

Payroll Service
Care in Finance can:

• Register you as an employer with HMRC
• Calculate pay based on either standard hours or timesheets submitted
• Provide payslips for your Personal Assistants
• Advise when and how much to pay HMRC
• Send monthly reports
• Provide advice and guidance
• Complete all statutory year end returns

Managed Accounts
Care in Finance can:

• Collect direct payments from your local authority on your behalf 
• Add additional contributions if necessary, e.g. ILF, Health or your assessed contribution
• Manage your fund in its entirety
• Calculate and pay your carers
• Make payments to HMRC
• Pay any other invoices
• Provide you with statements
• Provide reconciliation information to the Local Authority
• Give you access to a prepaid card if required

Prepaid Card
If you do not want the responsibility of managing your direct payment, but still need to use the funding flexibly you can use our prepaid card. This allows you to:

• Access part of your direct payment whilst leaving the required amount with us to pay your Personal Assistant and other invoices
• Use your card in shops or other outlets and the internet
• Withdraw small amounts of cash
• Be independent and flexible
