Planning for an emergency

If you are worried about what will happen to the person you care for if you are suddenly unable to continue your caring role, then carrying the Redbridge carers emergency alert card will help to give you peace of mind.

Redbridge carers emergency alert card

The carers emergency alert card gives carers peace of mind in knowing that there will be alternative support provided to the person they care for in the event of an unplanned emergency such as a family crisis or accident.

The card identifies you as a carer and stores information about the person you care for and two people who can be contacted in the event of an emergency, to provide support to the cared for person in your absence. If the nominated person(s) cannot be reached at the time of an emergency, the Council will arrange alternative support for a short period.

Anyone caring for an adult (18 and over) can apply for an emergency alert card.
