Service summary

Part of the Carers Trust Network, the Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) is an organisation providing a range of support services to unpaid carers in Redbridge.

How the Redbridge Carers Support Service can help you

Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) aims to make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge by providing them with a range of services, support and recognition.

A carer is a person who provides unpaid care and support to someone who is ill, disabled, frail or elderly.

Services include:

- Advice, information and signposting
- Community outreach and support groups
- Confidential counselling
- Complementary therapies
- Training and self development
- Health and well being activities
- Volunteer befriending
- Older carers support services
- Young Adult Carers support services
- Support for newly arrived and refugee carers

All carers registered with RCSS are allocated a Community Support Worker who can provide ongoing advice, assistance and referrals to external statutory and voluntary services as well as the range of RCSS holistic support services and activities. Carers also receive the RCSS quarterly newsletter – ‘The Redbridge Carer’ – keeping them in touch with all the latest health and social care news and information about our events and activities and how to get involved.

Speaking to someone
Drop-in sessions are available at the RCSS centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am – 3pm. Carers are welcome to talk to a Community Support Worker, get advice or register for one of our activities.

Whilst no appointment is required for general enquiries it is always best to make an appointment if your circumstances are complex or you would prefer to discuss your situation more confidentially. If English is not your first language, RCSS may be able to arrange for an interpreter.
