This is the third time Redbridge has hosted a pan-disability event, celebrating local residents with a disability or mental ill-health, with a positive focus on what people can do. We are inviting you to be part of this exciting event which will reach out to thousands of people across the borough and beyond.
For the first time ever, the Disability Awareness Celebrations will be held on a virtual platform this year! We're thrilled to be back, celebrating the talents and abilities of people with disabilities while also spreading disability awareness!
This year’s celebrations include live and pre-recorded activities, delivering a line-up of music, dance, games and accessible sports activities!
We've also brought back by popular demand some of our favourite acts from previous years to perform live!
This year’s celebration is about Bringing People Together – whatever your ability, whatever your age, wherever you come from. So, please scroll down to our programme where you will find links to all of our activities to ensure you enjoy your day!
Come along and join in the virtual fun from 2nd to 3rd September 2021! We want you to have great fun and let’s show people what amazing abilities people have.
Visitors will find live and pre-recorded online activity and outdoor activities to attend in person. The line-up includes music, dance, games and accessible sports, and some favourite acts from previous years return. It opens at 10.00am on both days and there is no charge for anything.

Some our popular performers from previous years return online including Brazilian dance, singing and a band. There will also be discos, karaoke, Zumba and much more.
While the majority of the celebration will be delivered online, on Thursday there will be an opportunity to take part in outdoor activities in person. At 11.00am there will be a walk in Valentines Park, then at 1.00pm choose from a selection of sports and games to take part in. These sessions are always extremely popular and this year will be no exception!
Please let Michelle Wood know if you would like to participate in either or both of these activities.

A number of people will be hosting information sessions to consult and advise on Covid vaccinations, what help you might need as more and more of our daily lives go online, and more.
Lunch clubs are open to everyone in Redbridge and are a great way for people to come together, socialise and share a nutritious meal. They provide an opportunity for people to remain independent, make friends and try out new activities.
As part of this year’s Disability Awareness Celebration, we’re giving away a free lunch to the first 20 people who sign up for the Lunch Club. These will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
This offer applies for lunch on any Tuesday in September at St John's Church Centre, St Johns Road, Seven Kings, Ilford IG2 7BB. The Lunch Club meets from 11.30am–1.30pm.
Sign up and book your place by calling 07958 043 760 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Once you have booked, we will be able to give you the menu for the week you wish to come.
